Frequently Asked Questions

What file types do you accept?

If you are submitting your own print ready files, we can accept native files from the following programs:

• Adobe Photoshop (.psd)

• Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps)

• Adobe InDesign (.indd)

• QuarkXpress (.qxd)

• Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt)

• Microsoft Word (.doc)

We also accept the following file formats: .eps .pdf .tif .jpeg

Are my images the right resolution?

If you are submitting your own print ready files, raster graphics such as TIF and JPEG files must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch). Images with a resolution less than 300 dpi will reproduce poorly on press (the image will look fuzzy and/or pixilated). If you took your images from a website on the internet, there is a 90% chance that they will not contain be a high enough resolution for printing (unless the images came from a stock photography house and are designated high resolution).

The internet displays images at 72 dpi, so that the images appear quickly over an internet connection, but under no circumstances should they be used for printing. If you submit low-resolution files for printing, you will have to sign a waiver acknowledging that you are aware of the resulting loss of quality, and that as the customer you are OK with that.

What are RGB and CMYK color modes?

Most graphics software programs give you the choice to work in either RGB or CMYK color mode. Scanners and digital cameras create images and computer monitors display images using combinations of just three colors: Red, Green and Blue (RGB). These are the primary colors of light, which computer monitors use to display images on your screen.

Offset printing presses print full color pictures and images using a different set of colors, the primary colors of pigment: Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow and Black (CMYK). This is “4-color process” or “full-color” printing that comprises the majority of magazines and marketing materials you see every day.

If you have not created your digital layout or design using CYMK color space to begin with, at some point your RGB file must be translated to CMYK in order to print it on a printing press. C to C can do this for a charge of $50.

What are the turnaround times for all of your products?

Our turnaround times on most items are usually within 2-4 business days (excluding shipping). 24 hour turnaround is possible but includes an additional rush charge. Here are a few conditions that need to be met: All times quoted above begin from the day you approve your proof. Due to heavy workload, Normal Proofs may take up to 1 business day (24 hours).

Are you placing your order after 5:00 pm EST, on the weekend or on a Holiday? Please be aware of our business hours and plan your expected turnaround accordingly. If you are placing this order after the 5 pm EST deadline, your order will be processed the very next business day and all delivery times (proof, print date, ship date, etc.) begin from the date your order is processed.

     Do you offer payment terms?

We gladly accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Check or Money Order. C to C Design Group takes great pride in its method of security and communication with our clients. Your order is 100% secure and your credit card information is safe. All credit card and PayPal payments will be billed immediately upon order placement.
